Overview

Also known as the Belmont District, the desirable Sunnyside neighborhood is a vibrant example of Portland’s charming individuality. Organic grocers, gourmet tea shops and one-of-a-kind clothing boutiques line up along Southeast Belmont’s busy sidewalks next to trendy nightspots, dollar theaters and upscale hair salons, drawing visitors from across the metro area.

With a thriving commercial district, safe streets and excellent schools, it’s easy to see why the close-in Sunnyside neighborhood is one of the most sought after areas on Portland’s inner East side.

Parks & Recreation

Sewallcrest Park is the Sunnyside neighborhood’s day park, with nearly 5 acres of rolling green space, an off-leash area for dogs, paved walking paths, a large children’s playground, a basketball court and playing fields. Nearby Laurelhurst and Mt. Tabor parks are also a short bike ride away, and offer a combined 200-plus acres of parkland to explore.

Many affordable homes can still be found in the Sunnyside neighborhood, which is overflowing with gorgeous Old Portland Foursquares, Craftsman, Victorian and Bungalow styles.  Brand new, ecologically friendly Lofts and Condominiums can also be found along Southeast Belmont Street.
