Portland is known as America’s most environmentally freindly or “Green” city and ranks number 2 in the world for sustainable living. Nearly 2 million people make up the Portland Metro area which streatches into three counties; Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington. Portland’s mild climate is ideal for growing roses which has lead to a large number of Rose Gardens and the nickname “The Rose City.”
Portland is also known for strong land use planning, an awesome light rail system, a large number of microbreweries and microdistileries as well as a fanaticism for coffee. Portland is also home to the Portland Trailblazers of which the city has a tramendous love affair for. Portland is known as an event city.
